| Hey everyone. Have been forcing myself to be productive, as much as I can, re: the writing side of things. Alas, this means the maintenance side, such as LJ and other mail lists, has kind of fallen behind a little. One day I hope to perfect the balance of writing time/other time but for now I'm afraid it's going to be grab a space when I can and shove something into the pipeline when a free slot comes open. The news since last month… the draft version of MOMS is finished and put aside until Dante and Space Burps are done. After two years of deliberation the PIACT agent enrollment and ID cards are now up and running join the draw and get your chance to own your very own PIACT ID card too. And, yes, my hair is now long enough to put into a ponytail. So, let's forget about the small talk and toss you into the meaty part of ( Sixteen Ways to Wreck Your PC )Thanks all for popping by, hope y'all enjoyed my little foray into the weird and wonderful and looking forward to seeing you all around the Interwaves :) Have a good week! | Did some tinkery poking on the drop dead and not gorgeous pc today. Looks like the motherboard took a dive. Good news, I guess, since the hard drive should be recoverable and that holds all of Teri's music. Bad news is, way too expensive to get fixed. At least until I win the lottery.
Oh well. Back to selling my bod on the streets...
Hey, at least I've still got my cranky and slow laptop.

| Certainly feels that way. My main PC the one I do most of my writing on and the one that has the graphics and web programs I use for my promo and web page stuff died this am.
My laptop is still going, the one that every other boot up has a boot up problem, LOL
Like they say, some days it just doesn't pay to chew through the straps.

| Alas not the fishy kind.
Am doing a quick run through for first edits on Dante I and would love the help of a few Beta readers. So if you have time and feel you could do it, please let me know.
I will be forever owing you a snickers brownie....

| Looking now I can see it's been a year to the day, almost, since my last LiveJournal post. And what a year it was. Good and Bad. Poseidon VII came out in print, received some very nice reviews, I remarried, moved house roughly 700 miles away. Surprised four doctors by not dying and been told, if things don't change, I have roughly three more years to live. Like I said it's been one of those whacky years. Other news from last year -- I now work as a cashier in a local supermarket. The pay isn't great but these days a job is a job, especially round here where the main employers, Ford, are having major oopsies and layoffs. Have actually been writing some, inbetween feeling half dead, And even got the first draft of Dante I completed. Also gone crazy and joined Twitter and Facebook. No idea why, other than folks said I should. Anyway, you've heard enough from me, now let's get to the best part of this report. ( The Daily Mutter )Thanks all for popping by, hope y'all enjoyed my little foray into the weird and wonderful and looking forward to seeing you all around the Interwaves :) Have a good week! | Which book do you irrationally cringe away from reading, despite seeing only positive reviews? The Harry Potter series... I've always been allergic to hype, the more hype the more I run from something. Guess you could say I'm basically suspicious of anything that looks too good to be true. If you could bring three characters to life for a social event (afternoon tea, a night of clubbing, perhaps a world cruise), who would they be and what would the event be?Oddly, my mind is a blank.... Borrowing shamelessly from the Thursday Next series by Jasper Fforde): you are told you can’t die until you read the most boring novel on the planet. While this immortality is great for awhile, eventually you realize it’s past time to die. Which book would you expect to get you a nice grave? One of the real hard SF ones like MARS where you die from overingestion of scientific data. Which book have you pretended, or at least hinted, that you’ve read, when in fact you’ve been nowhere near it?One time at a convention when a rather overbearing author demanded to know, repeatedly, what I thought of her books... Mumbled something of, oh, yes they're great! before wondering off for some revitalizing alcohol. As an addition to the last question, has there been a book that you really thought you had read, only to realize when you read a review about it/go to ‘reread’ it that you haven’t? Which book?Frequent occurence, I tend to remember only specific points of books and I recall very few beginnings. Often find myself rereading a book when I'm half way through. You’re interviewing for the post of Official Book Advisor to some VIP (who’s not a big reader). What’s the first book you’d recommend and why?The Anne McCaffrey Dragon Riders series as she really understands the need for good world building and the importance of giving life to secondary characters. A good fairy comes and grants you one wish: you will have perfect reading comprehension in the foreign language of your choice. Which language do you go with?Chinese, all of those wonderful legends and other tales. A mischievous fairy comes and says that you must choose one book that you will reread once a year for the rest of your life (you can read other books as well). Which book would you pick?Bridge of Birds by Barry Hughart. Humor, mystery and an alternate history of China that is unforgetable. I know that the book blogging community, and its various challenges, have pushed my reading borders. What’s one bookish thing you ‘discovered’ from book blogging (maybe a new genre, or author, or new appreciation for cover art-anything)?Never thought I'd end up writing erotic romance That good fairy is back for one final visit. Now, she’s granting you your dream library! Describe it. Is everything leather-bound? Is it full of first edition hardcovers? Pristine trade paperbacks? Perhaps a few favorite authors have inscribed their works? Go ahead-let your imagination run free.I don't think the room could be big enough for all the books I'd want. tagging four friend... as per tradition. tree220 melissajm jmward14 adriannebrennan - Mood:awake

| Filched from hutch0Your home is a Spawn-camping Magnate's Stronghold Your kitchen is someplace you never go, because you "have people for that." There's a Chocolatessen, which is rapidly becoming your favorite room of the house. Having one is also becoming a trend among your wealthy neighbors. Your master bedroom is the size of a small barn, with carpet thick enough to reach your ankles. Your study has hardback editions of every classic ever written, plus a special edition of Rich Dad, Poor Dad with the parts you ghost-authored highlighted. One of your garages holds your collection of ferraris, and is measured in acreage.
Your home also includes a guest wing and private quarters for your servants. Your guests enjoy your collection of every console and associated game ever made. Except the Intellivision -- those controllers drive them NUTS. Outside is your hedge maze and gardens, meticulously tended by a team of world-class botanists.
And, you have a pet -- a doberman pincer named "Warren".
